Living in an Icecube

Winter has been particularly harsh in Michigan this year. Or perhaps a decade of unseasonably warm winters has spoilt us and left us unprepared now that we get hit with a real Michigan winter this year.  All I know for certain is the magic of snow wore thin long ago.

I recently came across this interesting picture of Michigan, taken from space.   The outline of the Mitten is barely visible with ice rimming the lakes and bands of lake effect snow extending inward.

Pretty I suppose but I yearn for spring.
